Book Review:
The Last Sister by Kendra Elliot is the first book of the Columbia River series and honestly, if you ask us, we would definitely say that this book packs a punch. The story of the novel revolves around the lives of three sisters, hence the title ‘The Last Sister.
The protagonist Emily and her sisters, Tara and Madison, suffered tragedy and loss in their childhood and the repercussions have carried over into their adult lives. So the plot of the novel goes a little like this, among all three of these sisters, one sister ran and has not been heard from since one sister closed herself off and just tried to move on, and one sister is resentful and holds bitterness towards the others and the awful circumstances that separated them. Despite these grim circumstances, the premise of the story rises from the strength and solidarity derived from this complicated and bitter sisterhood. The imagery of the novel takes a very grim take starting from the very initial scenes of the novel where the protagonist Emily finds her friend’s dead body which has been stabbed multiple times.
This was such a compelling crime thriller. This is the first book in Kendra Elliot’s new Columbia River series. Mystery, history, romance, sisters, small town, racism, Family secrets, zany aunts. It is a must-read.
